What Australia Awards Africa Scholarships actually covers.
Australia Awards Africa Scholarships provide citizens of eligible African countries with the opportunity to obtain a Master's qualification at an Australian tertiary institution, funded by the Australian Government's Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). The programme covers the full cost of a Master's degree, including tuition fees, return international airfare, establishment allowance, and a contribution to living expenses. Australia Awards are among the most prestigious development scholarships available globally and aim to develop the skills and leadership capacity of the next generation of African policy-makers, academics, and professionals. Scholars return to their home countries upon completion of their studies, equipped with advanced knowledge and skills to contribute to national development. Eligible African countries include Algeria, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Ghana, Kenya, Liberia, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Namibia, Nigeria, Rwanda, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and others. Priority fields of study typically align with Australian development priorities in Africa, including agriculture, infrastructure, public sector management, and health.
