The Council for the Development of Social Science Research in Africa (CODESRIA) awards small grants to African doctoral students in the social sciences to complete their dissertations. Grants support thesis writing-up, fieldwork, and participation in writing workshops.

This programme does not restrict by field. Research proposals across humanities, sciences, engineering, agriculture, and medicine are all accepted.
