The DAAD Leadership for Africa (LFA) Scholarship for East Africa supports outstanding students from Uganda and South Sudan in pursuing fully funded Master's degree studies at public German universities. The programme is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and implemented by DAAD (German Academic Exchange Service). It offers tuition-free Master's study in Germany (in all fields except Medicine, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Law, Fine Arts, Architecture, and Nursing), preceded by a German language course of up to 6 months. The scholarship includes a monthly stipend, health insurance, and travel costs. The LFA programme aims to develop future leaders from Africa who will return to their home countries and contribute to sustainable development, good governance, and economic growth. Students receive comprehensive support throughout their studies, including academic guidance, cultural integration activities, and networking opportunities with German institutions and businesses. Scholars become part of the global DAAD alumni network, connecting them with over 75,000 former DAAD scholars worldwide.
