What GREAT Scholarship Nigeria actually covers.
The GREAT Scholarship programme offers Nigerian students £10,000 towards their tuition fees for one-year taught postgraduate courses at UK universities for the 2026-27 academic year. Jointly funded by the UK government's GREAT Britain Campaign, the British Council, and participating UK universities, the programme offers over 140 scholarships across more than 60 UK universities. Nigerian students are among the most numerous international students at UK universities, and this scholarship programme aims to strengthen educational ties between the two countries while supporting talented Nigerians in accessing world-class postgraduate education. The scholarship opens doors to prestigious UK universities where recipients can develop advanced expertise across a wide range of fields — from STEM and business to arts, humanities, and social sciences.
