What Horatio Alger International Undergraduate Scholarship actually covers.
The Horatio Alger Association provides scholarships to high school students who have demonstrated integrity, perseverance, and a commitment to pursuing higher education despite significant adversity. While primarily US-focused, the Association's international outreach includes support for African students admitted to US universities who demonstrate the association's core values. Recipients must plan to enrol full-time in an accredited US college or university. Awards of up to US$25,000 are provided to students who have overcome difficult circumstances and show potential for academic and personal success. The scholarship reflects the belief that hard work, honesty, and determination are the keys to success in America, and aims to support students who embody these values. African students who have gained admission to US institutions and meet the eligibility criteria are encouraged to explore this and similar need-based scholarship opportunities as part of their financial aid search.
