What Uppsala University Global Scholarship (Anders Wall Africa Track) actually covers.
The Uppsala University Global Scholarship Programme, supported in part by the Beijer Foundation through the Anders Wall donation, includes a dedicated Africa scholarship strand for students from African nations applying to bachelor's and master's programmes at Uppsala University — one of Scandinavia's most venerable academic institutions, founded in 1477. The Anders Wall Africa Track provides full tuition fee waivers for eligible African students who demonstrate outstanding academic achievement and are admitted to an international English-taught degree programme at Uppsala with that programme listed as their first choice in the Swedish national admissions system. Uppsala University is consistently ranked among the top 100 universities in the world and offers English-taught programmes across natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, technology, pharmacy, and law. The scholarship does not cover living costs; recipients are expected to secure their own funding for accommodation and living expenses in Uppsala. The application process coincides with the standard Swedish admissions cycle: students apply at universityadmissions.se from October onwards, with the Uppsala University scholarship application opening in mid-January and closing in early February. Only students who have not previously studied at Uppsala University are eligible. The programme was recently extended beyond its originally planned end date, reflecting Uppsala's long-term commitment to African academic talent. African applicants from any country are encouraged to apply, though the scholarship is highly competitive and awards are limited.
