About this scholarship

What Chalmers IPOET Scholarship Sweden actually covers.

The Chalmers IPOET (International Programme of Excellence in Technology) Scholarship is a merit-based partial tuition fee reduction offered by Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden — one of Europe's premier engineering and technology universities. Each year, up to 35 IPOET scholarships are awarded to the most academically exceptional applicants entering their first year of a master's programme at Chalmers, covering 75% of the tuition fee across all four semesters of a two-year programme. Students who achieve outstanding academic results during their first year may be upgraded to an 85% tuition fee reduction for the second year. The scholarship is open to students from all non-EU/EEA countries, making it accessible to students from every African nation. Chalmers is internationally recognised for engineering, architecture, technology management, and applied sciences, and its graduates are highly sought after by leading global employers. Selection is entirely merit-based and focuses primarily on weighted average grade from prior studies, the reputation and global ranking of the applicant's home university, and the priority order of programme preferences submitted at universityadmissions.se. Scholarship applicants must first apply through universityadmissions.se during the October–January application window, obtain an application reference number, and then complete a separate Chalmers scholarship application form. The scholarship does not cover living costs — students are responsible for their own accommodation and subsistence in Gothenburg. Deadlines align with the Swedish national admissions cycle, typically January 15th.
