What Friedrich Ebert Stiftung Scholarship for International Students actually covers.
The Friedrich Ebert Stiftung (FES) Scholarship for International Students supports undergraduate and postgraduate students from the Global South, including African countries, who are already enrolled at a German university. The scholarship provides a monthly stipend of €750 for Bachelor's level students and €850 for Masters students, along with health insurance costs and a family allowance of €276 for scholars with children. FES is closely affiliated with the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) and promotes the values of social democracy, equality, and international solidarity. Scholarship recipients must demonstrate strong academic merit, commitment to social democratic values, and active civic engagement. The scholarship also provides access to FES's extensive network of political education events, seminars, and international exchange programmes. FES has scholarship programmes in over 100 countries and is one of Germany's largest political foundations. African students who are committed to progressive change and social justice in their countries are particularly encouraged to apply.
