The University of Melbourne Graduate Research Scholarship is a prestigious fully funded scholarship for outstanding domestic and international students enrolling in a graduate research degree (Masters by Research or PhD) at the University of Melbourne, Australia. The scholarship provides a full fee offset for up to four years for doctoral students, plus a living allowance of AU$39,500 per year (2026 rate) for up to 3.5 years, a relocation grant of AU$3,000 for students moving from outside Australia, and Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for international students requiring a student visa. Up to 600 Graduate Research Scholarships are available annually. African PhD students and Masters research students from all 54 countries are eligible and actively encouraged to apply for this highly competitive scholarship.
