What U of T Mississauga International Scholar Award actually covers.
The University of Toronto Mississauga International Scholar Award is a prestigious entrance scholarship open to international undergraduate students admitted to the UTM campus from secondary school. The award offers CAD 40,000 in the first year and CAD 20,000 annually for each of the following three years, totalling CAD 100,000 across a four-year degree. Automatic consideration is extended to all international applicants to UTM — no separate application is required. Recipients are selected by a committee based on academic achievement and overall competitiveness of the admission file, making academic excellence the primary differentiator. UTM sits within the University of Toronto family, ranked among the world's top 25 universities, and combines the intimacy of a medium-sized campus with access to U of T's global research network, libraries, and academic facilities. The Mississauga campus has a particularly strong reputation for management, biology, communication, culture and information technology, and the sciences. For African students, this award provides substantial financial support to access world-class Canadian education. The proximity to Toronto — one of the world's most multicultural cities — also means that UTM students benefit from a rich cultural ecosystem, a large African diaspora community, and strong employment prospects post-graduation. African students aspiring to study in the Greater Toronto Area should prioritise submitting a complete and competitive UTM admissions application to be considered for this award.
